The Void Spat Me Back Out

Updated: Mar 2

Hello world!

Guess who's back from the void, it was inevitable, really. Yet, the void of burn out cant keep me there forever!

It's late out right now close to midnight here i suppose, I hope everyone has been well and hanging in there for all the tomorrows to come.

I'm back with some good news and then some bad- not really that bad- news.

Good news is, I'm back to making my merchandise for local sales again- yea! As you can see all of my items are made in house by yours truly.

(All the way from the starting sketch to coloring and then hand crafting/piecing the final products.)

The main items of my stock for now are button badges, stickers and book marks. There might even be some rare prints and along with some canvas paintings here and there.

More good news to share I'm finally getting to my world box- that mystical heavy duty organizer that holds a lot of doodles, sketches/concepts and ideas. Most have been sitting there for nearly five years,

Herein lies the many stories, ideas and creations stored throughout the years,

Doodles, sketches, stories, game concepts and even the small portal hidden on the bottom panel that the folders hide.

Bad news is, is that the quality of artwork i aspire to provide does take some time. So please bare with me- it'll be worth it i swear!

Then to tack onto that to make it better news,

is that I've finally upgraded my printer, it prints like a dream. 20 pages in and hardly a dent in the ink levels. I had a smaller printer previously, it used cartridges and let me tell you it was no bueno.

I'd be five pages in a print job with brand new ink and it'd be all gone! it was totally setting me back some.

now that I've upgraded i have a mad stack of printouts ready for lamination, cut out, and packaging.

So that's exciting!

I've also had to finish up the last of the hand cut bookmarks this weekend. Here's a peek at the process,

After lamination we go in for cutting out the designs.

I have over twenty designs ready to go each printout per design was five pages each. So twenty five bookmarks per design? I think,

When cutting out the bookmarks i used to accidentally bend them too much but have gotten the hang of cutting them without bending thanks to these bird scissors.

They were meant for sewing projects but i think they'll stay out for paper crafts from now on when needed.

Again another tool meant for another job- these were for punching out metal holes for jewelry but are now delegated to being a fine hole puncher lol.

Perfect for the ribbon and embroidery floss accessories fr the bookmark add-ons.

After that we go for the ribbon, if the are the tassel design bookmark the tassels are hand made with my handy dandy tassel maker.

Then we're onto the ribbon sizing and placement, I've since gotten more ribbon for the bookmarks after this pic was taken.

Le Ribbon!

On another note, I've designed more bookmarks of which i did finally figure put how to use the clip studio time-lapse for the coloring process,

Hours of editing an OBS recording gone to waste sigh

but it does work much better and will help me in the long run- I'll be sharing a couple 'Speed Paints' in my video section soon!

But for now here's one of the preliminary test videos made for one of the other newer machine upgrades that will help me with the cut out process.

My hands are saved! Huzzah! It had been the cutting by hand that took a lot of time, so i'm mad with joy at how precise and quickly it was cut by the new machine.

On another mini note to throw out here is a quick look see at some new bookmark designs.

The 'Just a Bookmark' bookmark is a double sided bookmark, i made three different new double sided designs that i hope someone will like once they go up for sale.

The second one. is the one seen in the cut out machine test video. Angel's Pride, i know most of my designs might not be everyone's cup of tea but I do know there's someone out there looking for more unique things to call their own.

and so I'll call it a night,

and look forward to sharing more with everyone here really soon!

I always strive to,
