I work with both Traditional Art; such as Plain paper, pencil and erasers. I can color with color pencils and dabble with acrylic paints.
Digital Art; such as a PC or Laptop accompanied by a graphics tablet to sketch, line and color.
I will also combine the two to create "Tradigital"Artworks, whereas I sketch traditionally then scan the artwork to digitally line &/or color on my computer software.
Art takes time and skill. Patience is key for both parties as well. The overall process and supplies or tools used to create an artwork requires replenishment and/or maintanence.
So, I take into account the type of artwork I am commissioned. The supplies/tools needed, the time needed to ensure my clients recieve Artwork with the best one of a kind quality and experience. As well as the complexity of the artwork are taken into account.
I often feel like this question is asked to invalidate the time and skill most digital artists would spend learning how to create with digital media.
Digital media is still an artistic media. Just as you would use a pencil, pen or paintbrush. A mouse or stylus is just as much a tool for artistic means.
I find that both may have their pros and cons. Yet it is in all honesty all up to the Artist to find what works best for themselves and learn how to hone their skills and confidence so that they may enjoy their line of work should they strive towards an art driven career or simply to enjoy creating art.
